Giridhar Korlipara, M.D., FACC, FSCAI Clinical & Interventional Cardiology After completion of my Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital, I joined TVCPC in 1996. My areas of interest during my training were post-myocardial infarction LV remodeling and post-angioplasty re-stenosis. The tremendous advancements in the field of interventional cardiololgy and the treatment of heart disease make it a very exciting period to live in. The drug eluting stents have revolutionized the way CAD is treated less invasively. Primary and secondary prevention with lipid lowering therapy has significantly reduced the recurrrence of cardiac events. Although these are my primary areas of focus, I also enjoy treating heart failure and valvular heart disease and am very excited about future treatments. I firmly believe and I often tell my patients "if you live long enough, we will find a cure". Since joining the group, I have performed approximately 5,000 cardiac catherizations and over 1,200 PCIs including stent insertions. I believe over the years, I have built a strong reputation as an excellent interventional cardiologist. The fact that the hospital employees trust me with their loved ones is an honor to me. I believe in delivering the most comprehensive and competent cardiac care with a personal touch. | |
